Wenn wir Meditation täglich praktizieren,
können wir uns darauf verlassen, dass die inneren und äußeren Probleme unseres Lebens gelöst sind.

Deveshu

Deveshu was born in Vorarlberg in 1960 and graduated from the Academy of  Fine Arts Vienna. The father of a daughter currently works as an employee. His deft hands have helped some of the instruments attain the sound the ensemble has become so loved for. He himself plays a handmade flute. Since 2008 he has taken over playing tanpura after a group member left. But what the group really needs him for is his soulful voice. Deveshu, who has been committed to the spiritual life since 1997, has the rare spiritual gift of losing himself in the soulful songs so that he sometimes doesn’t notice that everybody has stopped singing and carries on with his touching voice until his neighbor gives him a nudge. Our ensemble values the ability to get in touch with a higher reality or “presence” while singing soulfully much higher than, for example, displaying one’s musical talent or instrumental skill.

At any rate, Deveshu's voice has become an essential part of the ensemble, whose vocal music alone sends shivers down the spine of aficionados of devotional music. Deveshu's sense of humor, which sometimes borders the bizarre, is always good for a laugh or two.
